 ANCHOR STAND UP -

HERE AT FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL DAY LOUISIANA. AND YOU SEE ALL TYPES

OF GUITARS SUCH AS ACOUSTIC AND BASS. BUT ONE YOU DON'T SEE AS OFTEN

 IS HANDMADE FROM ARMONDE CHERIME.

-

 REPORTER PKG AS FOLLOWS -

 (TRACK 1)

A TRUE CRAFTSMAN AND INVENTOR, CHERIME HAS SPENT YEARS BLENDING

ART AND MUSIC INTO INSTRUMENTS THAT ARE AS UNIQUE AS THE SOUNDS

 THEY PRODUCE.

 Sound Bites, Armond Cherime

“Started kind of just putting strings on things and making alternative instruments.

And, just kind of stumbled on this idea one day and it worked.”

 (TRACK 2)

CHERIME’S JOURNEY TOOK A SURPRISING TURN WHEN INSPIRATION STRUCK IN

 AN UNEXPECTED PLACE…

 Sound Bites, Armond Cherime

“I was literally at the grocery store buying crawfish. And I walked by and they had one of those

Displays With a bunch of crawfish paddles. And I was like, I think I can put strings on that.”

 (TRACK 3)

THAT SMALL SPARK OF INSPIRATION LED TO A CREATION THAT BLENDS THE

CAJUN CULTURE IN LOUISIANA WITH RAW, INVENTIVE CRAFTSMANSHIP

 Sound Bites, Armond Cherime

It brought it all together in a in a Cajun way, sense of ingenuity. You know what I mean.

Is, is make do with what you have.

(TRACK 4) AND IT IS NOT JUST CRAWFISH PADDLES. CHERIME HAS EVEN REVOLUTIONIZED

THE USAGE OF GOURDS, A TRADITIONAL CAJUN INSTRUMENT, BY ADDING HIS

 OWN LITTLE TWIST.

 Sound Bites, Armond Cherime

“These are thousands of years old. We were making instruments out of these hollowed natural

 objects,”

 (TRACK 5)

BUT THERE IS A DEEPER REASON BEHIND CHERIME’S WORK. AS FEWER PEOPLE

IDENTIFY AS CAJUN, PARTS OF HIS RICH CULTURE ARE SLOWLY BEING LOST. FOR

CHERIME, PRESERVING THE ESSENCE OF HIS ROOTS IS VITAL TO HIM.

 Sound Bites, Armond Cherime

“Like when they tear down. Those dance halls and stuff, it would be nice to have a board or two

and make it from, you know, that. still, you know, in our culture, even though things might be

 disappearing, you know.”

 (TRACK 6)

HE IS ALL ABOUT BEING CAJUN!

 Sound Bites, Armond Cherime

“you know, because I'm going back and forth with being Cajun and not Cajun, you know. And, I

finally embraced it completely, you know, and appreciate where where it came from, you know.

But I still I try to think like a cajun As much as Possible.”

 (TRACK 7)

AND HE HAS THAT CAJUN LAUGH WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE!

-

NAT SOUND POP OF HIM LAUGHING -

 (TRACK 6)

IN THIS WORLD OF QUICK TRENDS, CHERIME’S PASSION FOR CREATING THESE

INSTRUMENTS THAT TELL A STORY REMINDS US ALL THAT MUSIC CULTURE AND

COMMUNITY ARE TRULY TIMELESS. FOR TIGER TV I AM CADENCE LASZLO
